Inspired by the research submersible Trieste, this composition for choir and whale songs (recorded by means of two Bluetooth speakers in different positions), portrays a diving expedition. Initially tossed back and forth between the waves on the water’s surface, the submarine sinks into the increasingly dark and cold environment, until only whale songs and the groaning of the boat can be heard. The sounds become more intense and more condensed before the submarine finally reaches the surface of the water again.
