Accessibility statement
HELBLING Verlagsgesellschaft mbH (hereinafter termed HELBLING) is committed to making its applications accessible, in accordance with the national legislation (Austria) transposing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
This accessibility statement applies to HELBLING webshop and hosted features and content (hereinafter termed application).
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
See ‘Non-accessible content’ for more details on content that is not fully compliant.
Non-accessible content
While HELBLING is committed to ensuring the accessibility of the application, there are known limitations that HELBLING is, wherever possible and feasible, actively addressing.
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
- Incompatibility with accessibility requirements
Some tasks and content — for example, those designed to achieve specific didactic goals (such as audio samples aimed at strengthening listening comprehension) — cannot be transformed without compromising their educational purpose.
Additionally, due to didactic considerations, certain content is designed in size and format to align with corresponding print materials, which are used by teachers and students during in-person lessons. - Disproportionate burden
Some content in the application, particularly material for teachers, is provided as PDF files. These documents are not fully accessible. These materials are not fully accessible, especially when intended for analog rather than digital use (e.g., classroom worksheets). While efforts are made to ensure new documents are created to be as accessible as possible, revising older PDFs would involve a disproportionately high effort. - Third-party content
No guarantees regarding accessibility can be made for third-party content that is outside the control of HELBLING. Such content may be embedded in the site or linked externally.
Creation of this Accessibility Statement
The evaluation of the website’s compliance with the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 was carried out through a self-assessment based on WCAG 2.1 at conformity level AA in spring 2025.
The evaluation covered the public pages, all main navigation paths — particularly student content — as well as the content and task types.
Accessibility was checked against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 (www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21) and evaluated using the WAVE tool (provider: webaim.org).
