Latin Mass
The Missa laudamus deum for mixed choir a cappella is, after the Missa deus est caritas, Manfred Länger’s second setting of the Ordinary. Easy to sing and kept in four voices nearly throughout, it is also suitable for smaller choirs. The Mass is exceedingly melodious in its lyrical parts, the melodies are accompanied by suspenseful harmonies and those parts in which the narrative of the text is in the foreground are often adapted to the rhythm of the language. The Missa laudamus deum is also well-suited for young choirs and will develop an atmospheric mood not only in a liturgical setting. Once again, Manfred Länger wrote his own text for the Credo that can be sung or omitted, depending on the occasion.
