“The Suite Divina Commedia is a musical narration of the fantastic journey of the poet Dante Alighieri (1265–1321) through three otherworldly realms: the blazing fires of hell, the fateful mountain of purgatory and finally, redemptory paradise. The organ becomes a cinematic instrument, it narrates and forms mental images. 
Since I did not ascribe this composition to any particular instrument, I proceeded quite freely with the registration. Crescendi, in this case, are to be understood as having to suit the particular organ. Whether with swells, pre-registered or both, it is left up to the performers.” (Mathias Rehfeldt)
