New compositions for chamber orchestra
The CD Urknall (Big Bang) of the Tyrolean Chamber Orchestra InnStrumenti (Conductor: Gerhard Sammer) presents a very special composition and concert project created for the twenty-year anniversary of the ensemble: 20 componists were invited to write new orchestral works with a specific thematic connection to one of the years 1997 to 2017. Each composer chose one of the years and a topic of supra-regional relevance. She or he passed the last bar of her or his composition, resulting in a cohesive work of 20 pieces. The 20 pieces are framed by Urknall and Finale; these two pieces were created as a collective composition of 18 composers.
