Year after year at Christmastide, the expressive Pastorale from Arcangelo Corelli's Christmas Concerto op. 6/8, fatto per la notte di Natale can be heard all over the world. With his sensitive arrangement, Michael Aschauer has now made this celebrated instrumental piece accessible to choirs. While keeping closely to Corelli's composition, he has combined the two principal themes of the Pastorale to create an easy-to-sing choral piece. The German lyrics (Weihnachts-Pastorale) are taken from a Christmas poem by the notable baroque poet Andreas Gryphius. The English text is a translation of the poem. A new highlight for Christmas choral concerts and festive occasions!
