Cyrill Schürch

Pianist and composer of orchestral, choral, chamber and vocal music as well as solo pieces and sound installations. His compositions have won awards at numerous competitions (Mario Merz Prize, Europa Cantat, ISCM, etc) and his choral music in particular is frequently performed internationally and recorded on CD (incl. by Simon Carrington, the Zürcher Sing-Akademie and Florian Helgath and with the Swiss Youth Choir and Nicolas Fink). Schürch studied piano and composition in the USA and received his doctorate from King’s College in London. In addition to his artistic activities, he is prorector at the music school in Zug, Switzerland and teaches piano, music theory and composition.
