Brita Rehsöft

Brita Rehsöft (born 1971) is a freelance singer, performer, composer, and lecturer. After studying at the universities of music in Rostock and Lübeck, she held engagements with the NDR Choir and appeared as a soloist in a wide range of concert series throughout northern Germany, alongside theater and performance projects.

Since 2016, Brita Rehsöft has curated the nocturnal concert series ODEN ZUR NACHT in Mecklenburg, where she appears as one of the principal artists in three consecutive thematic concerts: a cappella, experimental music, and early music.

Her experimental work with the voice has led to film projects such as AMRAND and HÖRBAR – Sounds@Work. In addition to her work as a youth choir director, she regularly leads vocal training workshops for a wide variety of choirs under the title Voice Yourself!. Since 2021, she has composed several works for women’s ensembles and mixed choirs, including the Dickinson Cycle.

This one has a strong artistic arc; if you ever need a shorter festival-blurb version or a more academic CV-style rewrite, it can be distilled in a few elegant strokes.
