Lumen cordis was written for my wife’s late confirmation – as a gift and a small musical statement. She once told me that neoclassical music always sounded a bit sad. This piece was my answer. I wanted to show that within this style there is also room for light and joy – that simplicity doesn’t have to mean melancholy, but can instead express openness, motion, and confidence. Lumen cordis became a piece about trust: bright, calm, and quietly alive.”
