Following the structure of William Shakespeare's sonnet Shall I Compare in strophic form with a coda, Pavel Brochin's choral composition captivates with colorful harmonies and an inspired combination of elements from romanticism, pop and jazz. After a common beginning, each verse develops independently in a varied manner. At the 33rd Valentin Becker Composition Competition of the Franconian Singers' Association, this choral piece was awarded the special prize, not least because of its sensitive interpretation of the text.

Together with the other two choral pieces Love Is Not a Feeling and Come, Live with Me, it forms the opening piece of a small cycle that can be performed under the title Three Love Songs based on Texts from Classical English Poetry.
