Melodically catchy, easy to sing and expressive, this little romantic motet delights many a choir. Based on a melody by Luigi Cherubini, it first appeared in 1876 in a collection by Bernhard L. Hellebusch. Sensitively based on the original, Michael Aschauer has now made this charming choral piece accessible to men’s choirs. To be sung in Latin or English (Holy Spirit Blest), it is suitable for sacred concerts and celebrations as well as for church services – during Advent and beyond.
