Loading shop information

The present first edition makes this charming three-movement Concerto in D Major for viola d’amore with two violins and bass in the pre-classical style accessible to the public for the first time. This concerto is characterized by sonorous melodies, its immediate catchiness, its liveliness and intrinsic playfulness and it represents a great enrichment in the literature for viola d’amore. The composer cannot be determined with certainty. Both the Italian violin virtuoso, Pietro Nardini, under whose name the work was found in the library of the Conservatorio Paganini in Genoa, as well as his German contemporary, [Karl] Michael Ritter von Esser, are considered the authors of this composition.
