In Weihnachtshimmel (Christmas Sky) Alwin M. Schronen has created a new Christmas carol where the melancholy melody immediately catches the ear and pulls at the heartstrings. The gentle introductory prelude that also introduces the 3rd verse turns the short strophic song – in which the choir repeatedly changes from two-part to four-part phrases – into a successful concert piece; at the end this wonderfully reflects in bright tones the shining of the children’s eyes at the sight of the Christmas tree. This part song was composed for the “Pan-Tyrolean Singing Competition” 2022.
