This is a Christmas carol for four mixed voices a cappella using a traditional melody by Finnish composer Leevi Madetoja (1887–1947). The modest lyrics praising the newborn child and offering gifts can be sung in Finnish as well as in English (Jesus Christ, Thou Child Most Dear) or German (Liebstes Kind, Herr Jesu Christ).
