In this multilingual choral piece, Franz M. Herzog subtly combines the familiar Latin text from the 12th century with an emotional text from the 19th century which makes up the first section (verse part), very expressive in its tranquility. By switching to a 6/8 meter, the Latin text becomes a slightly dance-like, delicately jubilant refrain. This is also emphasized by the piano accompaniment (ad lib) with its continuous sixteenth notes, before the music culminates in a final Alleluia climax, rising to bright heights at the very end.
