The Austrian composer Haimo Wisser (1952-1998) wrote Karikatüden" as exercises in music and humor in 1980 while on holiday on the Italian coast. He saw these little compositions, each a character piece in its own right. They were composed on the guitar and are thus highly idiomatic.
