Timeless yet up-to-date
Lorenz Maierhofer composed the Mass for Peace in 2015 amid a sense of international political and religious polarizations. The mass in the choir setting with orchestral accompaniment soon became a popular standard work. It conveys messages of faith, peace and humanity in a timeless fashion — empathetically, comprehensively and intensely.
The Mass for Peace for concert band
The concert band edition presents the Mass for Peace, available now as a harmonious, powerful and melodically touching instrumental mass. It can also be performed in a reduced setting. Eight mass parts (total performance time: 25-30 minutes) allow great flexibility in worship and concert — ideal for many occasions in the church year.
