Le clocher chante Choral single edition SATB

Gently and delicately swinging, endowed with interesting rhythmic accents and many a harmonic surprise, yet at the same time simple and clear, Le clocher chante (The church tower sings) will arouse the enthusiasm of performers and audience alike. The chimes of the tower's bells are reflected in a variety of ways in this choral arrangement, which is a subtle treatment of Rilke's text that at the same time remains easy to sing. This a-cappella choral work, not least made highly atmospheric by the subtle nuances within it, was awarded 1st prize in Category A "New Choral Songs" in the competition for composers at the 2nd Upper Valais International Alpine Choir Festival in 2010, and was given its first performance by the European Chamber Choir of Cologne, conducted by Michael Reif, in the gala concert held as part of the festival in Brig, Switzerland, on 25th September 2010 (Audio excerpt!).
