Chris Artley’s Ave Maria was written for the Graduate Choir of New Zealand in 2013. This very accessible setting features beautiful melodic lines supported by lush harmonies, including the occasional jazz chord or two. It’s quite a demanding to sing but well worth the effort for amateur and chamber choirs! In June 2014, this Ave Maria was awarded declared work of interest in the VIIIth Amadeus International Choral Composition Contest in Spain.
