Javier Busto

Javier Busto was born in 1949 in Hondarribia (Basque region). He studied medicine at the university in Valladolid and learned music autodidactically before starting his musical activity, encouraged by Erwin List. 1971–1976 he conducted the Ederki Choir in Valladolid, furthermore he was founder and conductor of the ensembles Eskifaia Abesbatza (1978–1994), Kanta Cantemus Korua (1995–2007) and Aquam Lauda Korua (2014). His choirs won first prices at choral competitions in France, Italy, Austria and Germany, and he himself was awarded with a lot of composition prizes. Javier Busto is regularly invited as conductor and jury member to different Choral Festivals and Competitions around the world.
